The “Youths with Future” program was designed through interagency cooperation between Children’s International, Fundación Ecuador and other strategic allies. It was created to empower young graduates with limited economic resources from low-income districts with tools through human, technological and job placement training; give them an advantage in employment opportunities, entrepreneurship and college entrance.
This program was socialized by the following institutions: Municipality of Guayaquil, ECAPAG, SENESCYT, Movistar, Chamber of Industries of Guayaquil, Spanish Chamber of Commerce of Guayaquil, Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF-IDB), Ministry of Industry and Productivity (MIPRO) and Claro.
Fundación Ecuador partnered in August 2014 with the Municipality of Guayaquil and Children’s International. Operations began in the Francisco Jacome Cooperative in Guayaquil (Phelan Center).
This program has received the following distinctions:
Civic Innovation Award: Faro Group selected this program among the 11 most outstanding innovators of Civil Society.
Educational Excellence: The theme “Towards Productive Employment” was given a national award by the FIDAL Foundation and received the First Latin American Educational Excellence Award, for promoting educational excellence with quality and innovative capacity. To date a total of 406 young people have benefited from this program.
